Do I Need a Building Permit?
Permits and inspections are required for the following:
- New buildings (commercial and residential)
- Patios covers (solid and lattice)
- Enclosed patios
- Bonus room conversions
- Additions and alterations
- Pools and spas
- Sheds/detached structures that exceed a total floor area of 120 sq ft. *
- Carports, garages and barns
- Fences over (6) six feet in height (check w/Planning for limitations)
- Retaining walls over (3) three feet in height
- Electrical, plumbing, mechanical and structural repairs
- Re-roofing (commercial and residential)
- Grading: if over 50 cubic yards or greater than 1' cut or 2' fill
