Thank you for your interest in the City of Calimesa and most importantly your interest in becoming a candidate for the Office of Council Member. The General Municipal Election for two (2) City Council seats which include two (2) four-year terms for the City of Calimesa will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022.
To be a candidate for the Office of Council Member of the City of Calimesa, you must be a registered voter in the City of Calimesa at the time nomination papers are issued. The registration of all persons receiving nomination papers will be verified with the Riverside County Registrar of Voters.
NOMINATION PERIOD – Pursuant to Election Code § 10220
The nomination period opens Monday, July 18, 2022 and closes on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 5:30 p.m. If an incumbent does not file within the initial candidate period, the candidate filing period will be extended for five calendar days and the extended candidate period will close at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2022.

All candidates for municipal office are subject to the provisions of the State Political Reform Act of 1974, as amended. The Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) has been charged with carrying out the provisions of the Act.
CITY OFFICE HOURS
Please be advised that normal office hours for the City of Calimesa are 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and closed on Fridays, therefore the final date to file your candidacy will be Thursday August 11, 2022 at 5:30 p.m. The City Clerk’s Office extends a courteous, cooperative and strictly non-partisan attitude toward all candidates. Should you wish to pull papers to run for a seat on the Calimesa City Council, you will need to meet with the City Clerk's Office to receive the Nomination Packet and instructions. A scheduled appointment is preferred, please plan for at least 15-30 minutes.
